Mushroom Hunting & Hiking

Mainalo, rich in flora, is an ideal environment for the fruiting of wild mushrooms.

In autumn and also in spring if the conditions are favorable after heavy rains the first mushrooms appear and call us to collect them.

With straw baskets and with the instructions of certified mushroom picker Panagopoulos Panagiotis, the harvest takes place in combination with a beautiful hike.

After a long mushroom hunt, a tasting awaits us – cooking of what we collected next to natural water sources.

Bees and honey

The beekeeper of our village, Panagiotis, through the specially designed place and next to his beehives, will help us to understand the process of honey harvest and the complex society of bees.

At the end, a unique honey tasting awaits you.

Farm Experience

Just 3 km from our guesthouse we have the opportunity to visit the sheepfold of the Giannara family.

3rd generation shepherds, they will show us the milking process, how the milk is pasteurized and finally we will try the traditional sweet ryzogalo

Sinanis family traditional local cheese workshop

The Sinanis family welcomes us to the traditional local cheese workshop which combines modern technology with traditional cheese making recipes.

He will guide us and reveal to us the secrets of the local cheeses.
Our visit will ideally end with an excellent cheese tasting!

Kalogris Biological Winery

In the beautiful settlement of Kapsia in Arcadia, next to the enchanting fir forest of Mainalos, the old mansion of Evangelos Kalogris was restored based on tradition and the architectural materials and elements of the place.
The visitable Kalogri winery is housed in a restored 19th century stone building.

The visitor can see up close the aging of the wine in the underground cellars, take a guided tour and enjoy a glass of wine accompanied by traditional dishes, next to the fireplace in the tasting room or even in the garden.
